I've mentioned that I'm doing this Proverbs 31 study at Good Morning Girls and Women Living Well. This morning we read about noble character. Proverbs 31:10 says that a wife of noble character is worth far more than rubies. Wow, I want to be worth more than rubies to my husband. Can I really do that?
Well, the encouraging words from Angela of Good Morning Girls say that I can. But wait, there is a catch. I cannot do this alone. I repeat, I cannot do this alone, so why, some days, do I try? God didn't put me on this earth to tackle it all by myself. He wants to be my teammate. He wants to be my strength. When I feel like I just can't make it to the end of the day, He will swoop in and lift me up and guide my steps.
I'm encouraged, are you?
Day 142 - As I consider this passage of scripture and think about who I want to become for my husband, it is on my heart to pray for the future spouses of my little boys. (It's hard to think that far in advance! Aren't they going to be my little babies forever???) I pray they choose wisely. I pray they don't settle. I pray they take to heart the words of Proverbs 31 and that each of them search for a wife of noble character. No they won't find perfection, but I pray they seek women who are humble, who are thirsty for God's Word, who make the choice every single day to strive to live like this noble woman of Proverbs 31.
